Does Antigua citizenship really require five days in five years? The real issue is passport renewal, not the brochure line
As of May 28, 2026, Antigua and Barbuda’s official citizenship page still states that citizenship may be deprived if a citizen does not spend at least five days in the country during the first five calendar years after obtaining citizenship. The official passport page ties renewal to that same five-day stay. That makes the rule manageable for many families, but it is not a throwaway detail.
